Graduation Day Is Here!!

Well, it's the big day and we leave very soon for Oxford. Everyone is dressed and ready. My mum is here and we are organised....I hope. Most importantly the camera is ready to catch the moment.

Last night I thought I would try to colour my hair and get rid of some gray...not a lot of gray...I don't have gray hairs, I have "lighter ones", lol. This was not really one of my best ideas, the night before a big event...more to the point I don't normally do this myself. If ever I have my hair coloured I leave it to someone who knows what they are doing, or should I say I normally do. But, what the heck it wouldn't be me if I didn't cause chaos, so off I went to the bathroom, bottles in hand.

It is ever so easy (or so the box told me), just mix a bottle of stuff with a tube of stuff. Simple!!! Well, it was until my DH looked in the bathroom and said "Oh my god, what are you doing?". After a brief explanation he really started to look worried!! I have to admit that the dark brown ring around my face did look rather alarming...but, it's like I told him "Trust me". He still didn't look convinced.

"it's easy...they say shampoo it in and leave it"...I assured him. The problem is that they don't mean shampoo it in..they mean just add to dry hair and rub. It took me a while to work that one out. I had visions of adding water..or shampoo, but I did get the hang of it eventually. It was a messy business and my poor DH was so concerned that my ears would stay a dark brownish colour....or worse still that my hair would go that colour! Poor man. What was he worrying about, we were going to the graduation of a young lady who had pillar box red, green and turquoise hair in her younger days...she wouldn't even think it was strange if I turned up with my hair a delicate shade of green.

The irony is that after all the fuss and bother of doing it.....no one has noticed the difference!!!! Not a word of comment and DH is steering clear of the subject and his near panic attack, lol!

Well, I need to go and get travelling. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to collect Day 2 of My Little Garden.

I'll let you know tomorrow how it goes today. So, fingers crossed that everyone manages to be in the right place at the right time. They have been warned!!

Yahoo - I KNOW how excited you must be!!! Been there recently. I have been crazy busy lately and apologize for being neglectful of my blog - as well as my scrapping. I absolutely LOVE this. This is the kind of stuff (of yours) that made me such a huge fan of yours from day one - over a year ago.

Thanks for sharing. I will snag these and the nature papers which I truly LOVE!!!! Don'T be surprised if you see these on my blog soon. Have just the photos in mind for them.

As always - love popping in to give a read... I will try to do better!!!

Thanks again,

eila

By the way - on a side note - LOL

My hair is naturally blond - but I like to add highlights every now and then... sometimes I end up VERY blond... I never let the pros do it - usually friends... makes it more of an adventure. I am glad your turned out well!!!

LOL, it sounds like my adventures in coloring my own hair, I never refer to them as gray hairs though, I prefer to call them "Natural highlights"...lol
Thanks so much for part two. can't wait to open it up

Congratulations!!

I always colour my hair myself.
Wash it. Let it dry and then I comb in the mixture. With a comb I follow the hairline, because I don't want to risk colouring my skin.
30 minutes
Then under the shower with the head.
2 minutes of conditioner, out with the lot and I have my natural hair colour back.

When people don't notice the change you look OK. :)

My - you do like living on the edge don't you - lol....I can't remember what my 'natural' hair colour is any more although I think it may be getting a shade lighter than it used to be too but I'm certainly not going to stop dying it to find out.

Hope you had a wonderful time at the graduation. I'm now waiting to see some fabulous photos.

Thanks for today's present - have a great time. Hugs.

Sorry I've not been by your blog in a while June, I'm gonna have to jump back a post and get the first part of this oh-so-cute kit! Your adventure in coloring your hair sounds like mine, I almost always do mine myself, which with the length of my hair now it is becoming quite a job!! LOL But I just feel like I'm still to young to have the natural highlights that nature has gave me. LOL Thanks for this part of the kit, I'm going back to get the other part and will be back later today to get the next part and hear read about your graduation adventures.

Wonderful new kit, love the colors and everything about it. Am sure you will be exhausted today from the graduation. It must have been spectacular and hope you didn't burst all your buttons with the pride you must have felt. Mixed up with days and time differences so it might be going on right now. Happy belated birthday. Is that the reason you needed to cover up the gray?? It's always so frustrating when you think that there is a marked change in your hair and noone notices. I know my son-in-law notices sometimes; however, never my daughter... Layout with Lilly is adorable, great job on the photo coloring too. Couldn't get on your blog yesterday. I'm one of those crazies that upgraded to IE 8 and have problems. Thanks to Linda Walton, I did dl the Firefox browser; however, it's a pain to toggle back and forth and I have so many sites bookmarked. Assume that you are not on the Google Friends connect right now and that's why I can visit.

What a very special day for your family and how very proud you must feel.

I quit coloring my hair about 20 years ago. It is white and everyone tells me how pretty it is so why do I look in the mirror some days and think I look so old? LOL

Thanks for the second part of this wonderful kit. I am loving it.

Big Hugs!
