Little Bits of Magic

In this world changes come at us fast and furious, sometimes they can be overwhelming. But despite the pace and uncertainty, there are so many small things in my live that ground me and make me feel that despite the pace....life is wonderful!!! They may be small and trivial but they really can change how I feel.

Small everyday miracles can lift me from the humdrum and exhaustion of the daily grind and make me think "Boy, life is good". I never cease to wonder at how the insignificant can make me feel so much better...so look around..the world is full of ordinary, mundane daily delights!!

Have you ever watched the dawn come up, with it's gorgeous colours and fantastic light? The first pink glow that radiates slowly across the horizon as the light gradually blossoms into a cascade of colours. As the light gets stronger it floods the landscape making everything look new and bright...full of promise. It's a sight that fills me with calm and warmth...no matter what the new day brings.

One of the simplest delights for me is climbing into a freshly changed bed and feeling the crisp, clean feel of the bed linen and the fresh, clean scent that lingers after washing...it's such bliss!! I snuggle down feeling pampered and spoilt...even though it was me that changed it earlier...it's just that feeling of freshness and comfort that I love.

Candles always fill me with wonder..no, I'm not simple minded...just in awe of the hypnotic feeling from staring into that soft flickering flame. It makes the shadows dance and the room looks so totally different, with deep dark pools hiding the corners. Now that is relaxing...the magic of the flame!

The smell of fresh coffee, baking bread, birdsong...they all are really trivial things that assault my senses and make me feel that life is good. They all work as wonderful pick-me-ups to my jaded senses, waking them up and sending glorious messages to my brain.

How many things can you think of that do the same for you? I'm sure that the list is endless, so think about what does it for you and indulge yourself just a little!! Let's face it they are not costly, you don't have to travel miles, they are there on our doorsteps....our own little bits of daily magic!!

Now, as I promised I have a little set of elements to add to the Everyone Kit. I hope you like them. Tale a look and see what you think.

Have a wonderful evening and remember to watch out for your own little bits of magic!!

Well the first little bit of magic that popped into my head was you and how very special you are.

What a great list and a great idea for a post. I might steal this little idea for a post and make my own list.

Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving those glorious words of encouragement.

I have been very busy, but, some very good things have been happening.

Life is good!

wonderful things are allaround us if we look for them. i use to love walking along the texas gulf coast inthe evening or before a storm came in as it was awesome to watch those clouds bloom across the horizon.

another great little thing is listening to the birds sing and try to tell which ones it is. most people call things like this boring but to me it's my piece of magic.

wonderful post. hope everyone is over the "flu" and back to normal

I know just what you mean! I enjoy checking my vegetable garden daily and seeing/hearing the birds, and our resident squirrel which are all very use to me. We also have some lizards in the garden that I love to watch and sometimes they will jump onto my hand. Also seeing the new flower buds or even just watching the clouds is enjoyable. There are many simple pleasures that help us keep sane in a busy life! Thanks for the new goodies to the wonderful kit! :)

What a delightful post! THIS is one of the simple pleasures in my life. I love reading a new post from someone I feel a friend, and seeing what is happening with them. The goodies, too, are a simple, yet, wonderful, bright spot in my day. To see what another person has created and what they were thinking in doing so is so intriguing to me.

It's good to pay homage to the good in our lives, too. It's so easy to find the wrong or the bad in every day goings on. But, to find yourself in awe of a rainbow is so much better. LOL

Thank you, lady!

Su

PS: Thank you for this lovely kit. The designs are refreshingly different.

Hi June, thanks so much for these lovely elements. I just love the colours in this kit.

I loved your list of the simple pleasures in life. I think I needed this to jolt me back from where I am. I too love sunrises and lovely fresh sheets and towels - especially when they have been dried in the sun. The smell of rain on parched ground and the bush after a hot day are also two things I love.

I so agree with you June, I too enjoy all of these, plus a beautiful sunset, the sound of children's laughter, be it my grandchildren or any child. To hear it ALWAYS brings a smile to my face, no matter what may be going on in my world at the time. :) Thanks for this great reminder and the beautiful elements to match the fantastic papers.

I love the dawn but I prefer to get up for it not to see it because I haven't slept as that just makes me feel slightly sick and a realization I should have been in bed hours ago.. That said if it was from talking to friends you haven't seen in ages it isn't such a bad thing... unfortunately two nights ago it was from a teething 16 month old being unable to settle !

One of my most wonderful little things is walking into a warm greenhouse full of tomato plants I LOVE that smell.. in fact last year when I didn't have a greenhouse I grew them in the house just for the smell :)

Hello June, thank you again for your amazing gifts - not only the papers and elements which I love as always, but your gift for truly making us think about life and the world around us. As we get older I think we really begin to appreciate how much beauty and wonder surrounds us and most of it is there for free. My own favourites have to be rainbows, clouds, dew on flowers and especially on cobwebs the birds and their songs and of course childrens laughter (in no particular order). Thank you again. Have a lovely day. Sue P.

thanks for the cute elements, they're great. And I also love the sunrises. See them most of the morning out my window as I sit by the computer. And quite often, I stop working and just enjoy the color.

Yes this morning when I went for my walk I was once again in awe of the sounds and smell of the grass and air around me. I focused on all of mother nature and it was wonderful and I love the feel and smell of clean sheets..

how true that is. some people just tend to focus on the materialistic things in life to give them pleasure when all they have to do is step outside and watch the sky, or really feel the raindrop on your cheek. watch a squirrel or rabbit play or smell the flowers. great post june, and the kit is very nice too.
