Happy New Year

Where has the time gone? I found Christmas was a challenge this year, I was a cross between Florence Nightingale and the nurse from hell....with a little Kitchen Diva and a lot of Caterer thrown in for good measure!! In other words...organised chaos!!

But the big day has come and gone and I am relieved that it is all over. Mind you I am suffering guilt pangs at the moment. Have you ever started out with good intentions, doing something with the best motives and then found yourself having reduced to a secret plotter with bad thoughts?...Guilty!!! I am!! Really I am...at my age too!!

I am so glad that my mum is so much better after her operation...but two women in a house can be bad enough but mothers and grown up daughters don't do well over the long term!! I end up, despite my good resolutions, ending the day frayed around the edges. I have found the last few weeks have left me no room at all even for thought let alone anything that I would normally do. So I think I am becoming the Grouches understudy...fast!!

But enough of that...I don't have any more time for moaning, lol.

Happy New Year to you all, may 2009 be a brighter year than people are forecasting. A year when you will find a cloud with a silver lining and a song to lighten you heart. Life is good..it just has little hiccups. So if you are having a bout of hiccups...hold on, they always pass.

My little New Years gift to you is a paper pack in greens and turquoises. It's a little abstract and a bit impressionist, which makes it a versatile little bundle. I hope you can find room for them in your stash...I know those hard drives must be groaning after all that Christmas stuff!!!

Take care and enjoy!!

Your goodies are gorgeous. Thank you, thank you! Your comments about living with your mom made me smile. Even a short visit with my Mom makes me appreciate having moved across the country :0) Make time for yourself so you can keep it all together!

Happy 2009 June, so pleased to hear that your mum is doing better - it really must be a mother/daughter thing. I love my mum dearly but only in small doses - lol. I have to keep reminding myself that I am probably going to be like that one day - just hope our son has a tolerant wife - Hehe.

Thank you so much for the gorgeous papers. Pleased to see you back on line and hope that you don't have too many hiccups this year. I am determined that mine have settled for a while.

Big Aussie Hugs from Keryn

June you are so funny. I bet things are a bit harried just about now. The holidays and taking care of everyone will take a tole on anyone. And an ill parent to boot. But, the hussle and bussle is now over and it's time to breath -- take a deep breath in...and let all that bad stuff out, LOL. Just think, despite all that went on, you still posted for us. How many people with all the stuff you went through can do that? Okay, counting on one hand...I didn't get past 2. So seriously give yourself a pat on the back, or have someone do it for you. You need it : )

The papers are lovely, thank you. I invested in another, yes this makes 3 external HD's. LOL. I was thinking seriously about the terabyte, but after reading the reviews decided against it at this time. So, the new 750gb will have to do, LOL.

Hugs -- xoxo! (terri - hawaii)

Thanks for these lovely papers, June! So glad to hear you made it through Christmas, hopefully things can settle a little more since there's no big "to-do" looming, that had to have added some stress! I hear ya on the mother-daughter thing, sometimes being together when we're well is challenge enough. Take Care & Happy New Year!

I feel for you. I am 70 now, and many years ago when my 4 children were tennagers I went through a similar situation. Both my parents became quite dependent on me to help out as they both had medical problems. Yes, it was a nightmare from hell when I think back. I was pulled in so manhy directions I didn't know if I was coming or going. And yes, I felt lots of anger.

Now I am entering the aging society and my only prayer is that I do not become a burden to my children. So far so good. I know we all love our parents and will do anything for them, I guess it is all part of the life cycle. People are living longer now so it becomes an even larger problem.

I hope the New Year brings you some respite and time for yourself and family.

Thanks for all the wonderful items you share - they are most welcomed by myself and the resulting layouts enjoyed by my family.

Aww. We're only human, June. Our intentions may be the very purest and well thought out. But, that thing called human nature kicks in and we're angry at ourselves for feeling that way.

We women have set down our routines and our way of doing things. We always feel our way is the best way, too. We take some of what we learn from our mothers and sprinkle that with some tid-bits we have learned from our peers, plus, what we have read. The result is our own special brand of doing things. Naturally, your mom would think you should do things her way, but, your whole point is to make your own.

I think what is fun is to see a situation unfolding with my own daughters and, then, recognise that me and my own mother went through the same stuff. It makes me see things from several different aspects - theirs, mine and my mom's.

You did great! You'll always have that time with her, no matter what. Unless she left you in worse shape than she came to you in, you did just fine. LOL

I'm glad that you made it through. You said it when you said, "This, too, shall pass." Sometimes, that is all it takes to carry on.

Namaste

Thank you so much for the pretty papers. And, yes, my computer is bursting at the seams with cute little Christmas kits *lol* I just couldn't help myself. Everytime I'd see a new one I'd think that was just what I needed. I have enough to scrap all my 50 Christmas's :) Thank you so much and leaving you some love.
