Freebie, Monday Challenge and Fun with Scrapbook Max!

Its Monday again...how fast does the weekend go!! Today has been fun..I started the day with a quick PC hop before work and I was in such a hurry that I banged down in the chair and...yep, on the floor! Something just gave..its not that I'm a heavy weight, just a banger down and the chair said Enough is Enough!! Lol! So I pinched my sons chair!! I will get a new one but until then possession is nine tenths of the law!

I have a freebie, unusual for a Monday I know, its some torn cardboard elements for personal and commercial use, no credit required. So be my guest if you like them. Just a little thing but quite useful.
You can download the Torn Cardboard Elements here

Monday Challenge
For this weeks challenge you need to make a layout using at least two of the torn cardboard bits in the freebie pack, you can use more if you want but it must have two. The normal rules apply they are:
1. Make a layout using 2 of torn cardboard pieces provided. You can use any size, colours or kit you want.
2. Email the layout or a link to it to me at june.schutrups@btinternet.com by midnight on Sunday 9 March.3. Please list credits for all items you use in your layout.
4. When I receive your layout I will send you a link to download for the Posting Bonus.

The posting bonus this week is the Friendship Page Kit. So get scrapping and send in those layouts!!!

Tonight's layouts are making great use of Faded Beauty. Chris used the Blog Freebie Add On of the kit and what a superb layout she did too!! I adore what she has done with the frame and those little hearts had mine all a flutter!! Excellent layout Chris I adore it!!

And Su used the Full kit and boy look what she came up with!! I was amazed what she did with the staple...using it to secure the hangers..nice touch Su! Her cluster and curled paper are amazing and the old photograph is perfect with this one! Wow how did you get that flower so big...it looks great!Tremendous layout!!

Remember I told you I was trying out Scrapbook Maxby? Well, I am sooo impressed...you said I would be. It was so quick and easy to get started, even I managed it without a problem, so it must be straight forward! I decided that I would use some of the templates that came with the package and of I went. It was that simple, I loaded it on my PC and of I went. It comes with a large choice of templates and elements which I could move and personalised as I wanted. A big bonus was how easy it was to crop and place my photographs, it was simply, that's partly why I was so fast..normally I take an age to crop it just how I want.
I found the templates come in themed albums but I could still mix them. Even better I still had the benefit of layers so I could promote elements to the front or back to fit my layout. When I finished it was easy to save the pages. It gave me a variety of formats I could use which made it even more useful. I saved some for emailing, and the rest to a folder. I could even have saved for video...video was just a bit too advanced for me, so I didn't try that one yet, lol! It really was a scrappers delight, fast easy albums, lots of built in goodies with it and the best thing yet..I could even import my own stuff into it and use it!! What more could a girl ask...well, gold, silver, a lottery win...no, seriously it was ideal for fast multiple pages and fun to use. So my next venture will be to try the import options and see how easy they are. I'll let you know how I do.
But it did have some draw backs, I can't blend or fade but I have my CS2 for that. The beauty of this is it's versatile and produces fast layouts and albums, so it gets a place on my PC and I will enjoy being able to get rid of my backlog of pictures into albums at last.

OK, I know...I have gone on long enough for one night!!! But I got quite excited about this. I know that initially a lot of experienced scrappers may think I'm strange using it but believe me it is so worth doing. I'll still be a CS2 girl but this works for me too! If you want to try it out you can get a free 28 day trial...I love trials of things, they are just irresistible, especially if they are free!!! So go have a look and while you there browse the online community as well. I spent an hour there last night seeing if I could pick up some tips...and I did loads. So, take a look for yourself.
Wednesday I will post some of my album pages for you to see.
I'm going, yes I promise...I will shut up now!! Take care and have a great evening!!

Thanks for the cardboard goodies, they're great. I have been using SBM for almost 2 years now. I love it for the ease of doing layouts. Don't know if you saw the hint about drag and dropping elements and stuff. It is much easier than using the import items within the program. Some things still need to be made outside of SBM; however, the program is still well worth it for layouts.

I rarely download freebies these days June. I just hunt them out to tell other scrapbookers about them on my Five Freebies of Friday segment.

But these cardboard element of yours are just calling out to me. So I've grabbed them and i thank you muchly for making them available.
