Final Part of Hickory Dickory Dock

The start of today was not quite what I would have wished for..an other family disaster....we do those really well and often, lol!!

Charlotte rang with some bad news, her work on the computer at university had become corrupt and when she saved her work this morning it corrupted her pen drive...aaaaah!!!

She has two projects with a deadline of Monday and all the work she was doing on them was on the university computers or...yes, you got it... on her pen drive. Normally it's only when they are completed that she loads them onto her own hard drive for permanent storage.

She works so hard. like this morning with a 6.00am study start, that I really felt angry with the university too, as it appears their backups don't cover the files that students save to their own sections...is that stupid or what? They state that they have a new policy and in it they are trying to discourage students from using their personal storage folders on the university system!!! What is that about?

That sounds like they are discouraging students working on university computers at all.

So till Monday her life will be manic, well a bit more manic than usual..and no doubt so will ours!! Lilly will be taken care of by dad tomorrow and by her aunt on Friday, all in her own home to minimise any disruption to her routine. Come Friday evening she will be grandma's girl for the weekend!! So this weekend is allocated for the greater good...it's drop everything and start bailing out the boat, lol!! But isn't that what families are all about?

And it gets better...tomorrow I have a treat....it's time for my annual flu jab...some treat!! But I suppose it's better than getting the real thing, lol!!

OK, for those of you who wanted to see "the nails", here's the photo I took yesterday. I have just transferred it from my camera and later I will do a layout to save as a reminder of Emma's first assessment.

my-manicure

She really had a challenge with my work worn hands!! Note, I even have a burnt index finger...I told you this girl had her work cut out for her!! These hands have hard usage and are total strangers to rubber gloves!! My nails have daily challenges like being used as tools to get in the rim of things, household detergents etc...come to think about it perhaps I should have a be kind to hands week!!

Now for the last part of Hickory Dickory Dock!! It's the second part of the elements and that will complete the kit.

You can download the Second Part of the Elements here

Oops..I forgot the clock!! I have corrected the download now, sorry about that.

I hope you've enjoyed collecting the kit!

Now for a laugh...I just rolled about when I saw this fantastic layout from Su..it really made me laugh. Not that I was heartless..but I could just imagine this little guy thinking he was in hamster heaven..and look at that face...is he saying sorry or is it a tummy ache? A wonderful layout with great journaling!! I love how you used the papers and tags Su...a fantastic page!! Thanks for sharing it and making me smile..I hope Gims has made a full recovery!!

That's all from me for today...enough play time I'm back to work now! Have great day and see you soon!!

Hi June! Oooooh, Your nails look amazing ;) Grrrrrrr... I'm doing my impersonation of a Tiger here LOL!! I use my nails as tools too unfortunately and cannot stand for them to be much more than an Eighth of an inch long! Always cutting them back! I do wear the rubber gloves though since my skin was always chapped from dish water ( I do have a dishwashre but it is NOT the same )! Sounds like you are in for some FUN this weekend with the precious Miss Lilly :) Aren't Grandkids the BEST!! TTFN...Cindy
P.S. Adorable LO of Gims.... Love it!! TFS

Sorry to hear of all the problems with the university computers - what a lot of added stress and worry for your daughter - hope all works out well for her.
On the plus side, you get to have a weekend with your beautiful granddaughter - lucky you!!

That layout is adorable!

Those computer issues are down right horrible!!!!!! My husband uses his laptop, his desktop, his passport and his office server as backup ...ALL PLACES and he's still lost stuff! Can't win with technology either!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!

Sorry to hear about Charlottes tragedy. That really sucks and I wishher the best of luck getting things back in order. Your granddaughter did a terrific job on your nails. No using them as tools at least for a week. :) That LO is so cute, but I can't look at it anymore...I'm deathy afraid of rodents. UGH! :)

Love your nails June, your GD really did a beautiful job - I wish her all the best with her career.

Thanks so much for the hickory dickory kit - loved every bit of it & that layout with the hamster is wonderful - LOVE the look on its face LoL.

I know it's too late to be of any use to Charlotte now but with DS was doing his Thesis last year he kept emailing it to himself - that way it was always on his Yahoo account - he also emailed it to be as a additional backup.

Nice work on the manicure, Emma!

Thank you for the sweet little mice, June!

I know ALL about computer nightmares! I just tonight got my computer back after a lightning strike two weeks ago. Fortunately, all my genealogy and my scrapbooking seem to have been recovered.

Hi June

How awful for Charlotte, it must be so stressful. It's a good job she's got such a fab family to help out. Thank you so much for your lovely gifts, they are gorgeous as usual. I emailed you a while back, but somehow I think I must have the wrong email for you.

Hugs
Susie
