Thank You!!

What can I say but a HUGE thank you to all who let comments on my last post. I was overwhelmed when I saw all the responses to my requests for an opinion... I actually felt a lump come to my throat. Thank you all for being so brilliant and sensible...unlike me!!

I appreciate all the sensible opinions and words of advice and your right, I should do what I feel is right on my own blog.  I need to give myself a reality check and say "Who Cares!". My initial reaction was shock that people would take the time to be so rude......my mistake was to react. Your right..if they don't like the way I do things it's just tough. So I am staying as I am...one blog, this one!! I feel a little silly for being such a baby now!!

Now I have said that...I'll move on.

Lilly is doing well this week and is back to her normal rushing around self. When she was ill she was such a sad little soul that grandma just had to try something to make her smile. So, knowing Lilly's passion for dressing up I got her a hat, one with a ribbon down the back and a fancy brim.....her mother looked a little doubtful when I pulled it out of the bag and proudly perched it on my head. Lilly often proudly struts her stuff in a variety items to achieve her own unique fashion style. Fashion Lilly style is a stunning ensemble.....her Father's high visibility vest combined with a contrasting set of  Mummy's beads, granddad's winter scarf and..... for that "Tres Chic" touch.....a pair of Uncle Chris's size 13 shoes. The effect is eye catching to say the least!!

The thing with Lilly is she only likes to dress up with other people's stuff...it's no good with something she already owns!!

You can understand that to get her interest I had to make her think the hat mine...a hat she would just long to wear. So...I gazed in the mirror and posed and preened, exclaiming how much I loved my new bonnet!! A strutted and twisted and walked up and down an imaginary catwalk. Mind you, for a while she stayed silent and watchful...most probably thinking why did she get such a weird grandma when they gave them out!!

But....then came the suggestion of a smile, that grew...next the hand came out in the hat's direction....and then a loud "Tah". She wanted it!! They say everything has it's drawback..and it does, even little hats (that is apart from the fact I had spent 30 minutes acting like a lunatic with a tiny hat perched on my far from tidy hair). Bath time was just a teeny, tiny bit difficult with a one year old in a straw hat!!! Ducks and a straw hat...yep, now I know she's one of mine!!! A true blue eccentric!! Lol!

Have a look, here she is after she first claimed the hat...and yes, it does look terrific with a high visibility vest...or ducks. I know because the next day I bought her the smallest visibility vest Ikea had.  She now has her very own....but we don't tell her that! Oh gosh no, she thinks it's Charlie's vest she wears. It's a bit large still but it's a lot smaller than her dads!!

lilly_hat

I've got "grandma's" new hat....and half a smile.

As it's Friday there is a gift, one I hope will prove useful...it has for me. It's a set of brushes(.abr) and custom shapes (.csh), plus 5 png files for making labels or adapting to make other things....it's your imagination!! Hopefully having them in several formats will make them useful to more of you. Commercial Use is Ok for these too...so enjoy them and make some great goodies for your pages!!

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you once again for being the "wind beneath my wings".

Thanks bunches June..love the brushes/shapes! Yeah, that's right, I'm still alive.. just a little bit more seldom.
I have had a not so fun time, but it's almost "back to normal" now again. We're about to move again, so it's lots to do around here.
I will however try to find some time to scrap and design freebies for a while now and then ;o) I've missed it, and you, and all the lovely people connected to the digiscrapping!

Ps.. I love your blog, just as it is! Ds

Your Lily is simply adorable! I'm just now hearing about the negative comment about your blog. Some people aren't happy unless they're making someone else unhappy. Just keep doing what you've always done with your blog. It's just right the way it is!!

I'm so glad you have made the decision to keep your blog the way it is, I for one, love it.

Great blog post today June it made me smile. Lilly is a little darling & totally scrumptious. Gosh how I love kids. I can't wait to be a grandma. I'll be in my 60's before Lonnie or Jamie have children and that being optimistic. :(

Have a great weekend

Boy, some people just amaze me....the very nerve of them to tell you how to run your blog. If they don't like the way you do things then they can leave..the rest of us will stay and laugh at your stories and even learn from them.

I can't tell you how many times I found myself LOL over something you wrote. I have often thought you should write a book because you have a gift for telling stories.

I am so sorry you had to be upset, but hopefully you have felt the love of those of us that appreciate all that you share with us.

Thanks for the CU freebie and Lilly looks adorable in her hat. Such a SWEETIE!

Love and hugs!

So happy to hear that you came out on top. I admire everyone who is able to ignore/handle all the rudeness. It was easy for me to tell you to do whatever you want on your blog, but this rudeness is one reason I don't have a blog. I'm a wimp. lol
Loved your story today!

Hi June
That sweet little Lilly is just too cute! I want to reach in and hug her. I aleays miss my great grand daughters when I see Lilly, because she actually looks a lot like Anna does now. Please don't change your blog. It is wonderful exactly as it is....you have so many that come because they feel at home here, not because of the freebies. That is an added bonus. I am sure I am not alone when I say it is such a hearfelt blog and I love what you write, sharing some of your happy and funny times with us. They are probably upset that they don't have a Charlie and a Lilly of their own to write about. Family memories are what scrapbooking is all about. I wish we had more who took the time to devote more of their blog space to those precious memories you have shared with us. XXOO (Oh, I almost forgot, but I wrote something about you in a post afew days ago and put a link to your blog)

June,

Thanks for all you do. I am surprised that you would have people be rude to you when you are giving away such beautiful creations. You are doing what you feel is right. Awesome. I love your blog and your creations. Keep up your great work. I don't blog hop enough but when I do I often find my way over here. Again, thanks for everything and I am so glad you are happy with your decision.

Don't feel like a baby! My goodness! It would upset any one of us, to an extent, I'm sure. It would me. However, having said that, I'm happy you aren't going to change a thing. As for all of us devoted fans, we should not have to accept changes because a few dolts. You know we would though. I'm glad you shared it with us. That makes us feel important. LOL I want a hat like that! Wah! LOL

Happy weekend Ms. June :)
So sorry for your recent upsets (I backed up a few posts to bring myself up to date), I always enjoy hearing about Lily's adventures with grandma..she is just adorable! Funny how the little ones don't want something unless it belongs to someone else ROFL! My 2 smallest (3 and 5 at the end of this month) are the exact same way..if it's someone else's stuff it just seems better that way lol! Thank you for the ray of sunshine you breathe into this blog, there are days when you bring a smile to this tired sahm designer's face that is so needed! xoxo K

Oh my goodness June. I have just read your previous post and I am appalled!
What kind of mannerless morons would write emails like that?
Never forget that you are giving something for free. How often you choose to do it is entirely up to you and people should be grateful that you choose to give them something for free anyway. Unfortunately many people believe that if something is free then it is valueless.
As for saying in those disgustingly rude terms that they are not interested in reading about your life, well would anyone want people like that visiting their blog anyway. They're just 'gimmee' people and would probably pinch the coins from the collection plate on Sunday. I should think you're well rid of them.
It's your blog, your time and your creativity... you do it YOUR way girl.

Mary said...

oh, goodie a freebie & a pic of your adorable grandbaby
thanks for both

I have to admit, your wonderful freebies drew me to your blog, but your blogging kept me coming back. I enjoy reading about everyone else's lives. Makes me feel more "normal." The gifts you give, to me, come from your heart but your blog is your heart. If they don't like your blog, its their loss! Love to you girl! And thanks so much for sharing bits of you with all of us.

I just read your post about your rude emails. Don't change a thing!!!! I love reading about your life. If others don't want to read they need not stop by. As for myself it makes my day. I am not able to stop by very often because of time, but when I do I can't leave without a smile :) Don't change a thing. You are awesome! Love the pic of Lilly :)
